Reclaiming Lost Rituals: The Beauty of Use.
From Long Island, New York, Charles Birnbaum will be present for the Opening Reception at Casa Nova, August 17, 5-7pm, which features his functional forms: one-of-a-kind teapots, pitchers, and jars. Birnbaum's pottery surfaces are heavily patterned and detailed, with sensuous shapes. They are created 'freehand' without the use of a wheel or mold from single slabs of porcelain.
