Zulu Baskets were an integral part of the Zulu Custom. The decorative beer baskets were made for special events & purposes. All patterns have meanings from the bridal price (how many cows) and patterns that symbolize feminity, masculinity and battle shields. The baskets are a coil of grass, bound and stitched by hand with shredded Ilala Palm Leaf.
