Very unusual headrest (pillow) from Africa. Embellished with strands of copper heshi beads, all hand done.

Size 6" x 3" x 14" on custom stand. This coptic cross was used by traveling priests to spread the word of Christianity, or kept in the family home in Ethiopia. This has fine detail in the center and the top has carvings of the Hold Trinity. Made with German silver, circa early 20th C.

Chief's hat from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. The hanging beaded fringe was so that other people could not see the chief's face. The bird symbolizes carrying the wisdom from the ancestor to the chief. circa 1940
